There was another shot similar to this with a clean lens, but this one was framed better. We were asked to invigilate/proctor a high school exit exam this past weekend. This particular one took place in the emirate of Fujeirah on the Indian Ocean coast of the UAE. I went down a day early with a friend, and we awoke to what was, quite possibly, the worst humidity I've experienced in a very long time. We put on our bathing suits, grabbed a cup of tea, and walked down to the water at about 7:00 am. The sweat rolled off of us, and it took several minutes for my camera lens to adjust. The ugly hotel you see tucked into the mountains is Le Meridien. We were staying at the Rotana beside it. More photos of this weekend to come...
Hanging Out at the Garage

I hate that! I wear glasses and the summers in Abu Dhabi were terrible. Too bad they don't make windshield wipers that small.
Interesting :)
I have never been to Fujairah... how is it treating thee? :)
We were only up there for the weekend. I like Fujeirah...it's just a nice break from the city. Mountains, sea, sometimes dryer air (away from the coast)...

We lived there for 4 years. That humidity is the worst. I don't miss it at all. Even thought the temps are a lot lower than the rest of the country the 99% humidity makes it really uncomfortable.
So you were involved in CEPA? When I was in Fujairah they just started it in the UAE. About 7/8 years ago.
I've often wondered why whenever I see a word that I've never heard of before, I seem to hear it again shortly afterwards. So here, you use the word "invigilate." Never heard it until this past week. Coincidentally, I read another blog about an invigilator just this week as well.
Hopefully, you were a kinder invigilator than the other one blogged about. He confiscated a test paper, thinking that the test was supposed to be an hour and a half long, when it was in fact a three-hour test. Pity that student.
Thanks to all of you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I've had many a foggy sunglass lens in recent weeks. Roll on summer holidays...
@Big Dave T: Yeah, I picked up that word "invigilate" here years ago. I can't peg it to any one nationality, but it's definitely not American in origin.
