Cats Are Expats, Too

Judy made the journey from Seattle last August. She flew ahead of me by a few days, and spent 10 hours in London. What can I say? She's loves Harrod's. Due my lack of housing upon arrival, Judy spent over 30 days in the British Vet Clinic's cattery. They treat the animals well, but this is basically kitty prison. I felt guilty having her in there for such an extended period of time. As I'm about to travel home for the summer, I've arranged an alternative to the kennel. A friend's daughter will be coming daily to visit with Judy and tend to her needs.

This photo was snapped the other day as she soaked in the sun. The cushion pictured was a Sharjah Souk purchase a good few years ago.

Look... she's smiling in her sleep. It is better that she gets to stay at home for the summer even if she might wonder where you are... but at her age, she mostly sleeps anyway. Ha!

Aaawwww!!! such a cutie. I guess one of the big dilemma's of this place is how does one manage pets during the vacations!!! You've been lucky that you have someone coming in to attend to the cat.

If you ever have to put your cat in the kennels again try The Falcon Hospital. Each cat gets their own room with a view. My cat seems happy, the last time I dropped her off upon exiting her box, she went and plonked herself on her cushion in the sun. As if to say...there now off you go.

We used to have the houseman take care of our dog when we left, but that was just for a few weeks. It was nice, since the dog was at home, and could roam around, had our smells, and someone who actually liked her.

Have a good vacation!

I love cat and cushion! I know what you mean Susan, about leaving her, I'm going away tomorrow, and think the Puddha will be lonely while I'm away, and prefer someone dropping by too..
